If you know me at all, you’ll know that I LOVE TO SHOP… especially when it’s a good bargain – so I’ve decided to start a mini ‘series’ of sorts on my blog about products/stuff out there that we can get for super cheap. Champagne style on a beer budget, if you will. Aldi have recently added to their range which is not too dissimilar to a certain luxury brand.
When my cousin told me they were bringing out more products, I was straight on it! I absolutely love Aldi anyway (I wouldn’t food-shop anywhere else) but the day they brought this range out I was there like a shot. They’ve brought this range out in time for Mother’s Day, and I genuinely do think they would make a lovely gift (mam…you’re sorted don’t worry)
For starters, I bought every item they had in the collection, which cost me: £18. That doesn’t even come close to the price of just one product from Jo Malone! I bought them a week ago, and wanted to give them a try before giving you my opinions on them.. so obviously the items have already been released but there’s still a lot of stock in the shops!
The item I was most excited to try was the perfumes they were bringing out. They have three scents: Lime, Basil & Mandarin – Pomegranate Noir – English Freesia & Pear.
I have the Jo Malone’s perfume in Lime, Basil & Mandarin so wanted to see if this one was any good. It is amazing! You get 100ml for £5.99 which is just mental when you think how much the 30ml perfumes cost at JM (it’s £45 in case you were wondering). It smells amazing and I wasn’t expecting it to last as long as it did – I can put it on before work and still smell it when I’m on the way home (ten hours later)
I decided to get the hand and body wash/lotion in the same scent as well. I have some Jo Malone shampoo & conditioner, which I’m waiting to bang out when we finally get our new bathroom done – but when I saw these I decided to get them and just stick them in the bathroom straight away… I love them. The scent on them is super strong and fresh (and let’s face it, I think we all need a bit of hand moisturiser in this cold weather!) The body creme is sooo similar in texture to the JM one and smells exactly the same. My mum has the actual JM body creme and I always steal it off her when I go round…it’s a nice product to put on before bed and it absorbs nicely as well!
I can’t imagine how the creators of the JM products are feeling about this range being released, with it being so luxurious and cruelty free as well as a fraction of the price… however I’m sure there are some people that would want to stick with JM – fortunately, I am not one of those people and I’m really pleasantly surprised about how luxurious this range actually is! … and I’m not sure that I would pay the Jo Malone prices from here on out!
If you like Jo Malone products (but not the prices) then I try these out! Let me know what you think of them if you’ve already tried them!
